Library of Hattiesburg
Recipient of the 1996 Governor's Award for the Design of Public Space and featured in Southern Living, the library is home to a unique, circular 167-foot colorful mural with historical and contemporary images of South Mississippi. Titled The Spirit That Builds, the mural was painted on sandblasted stainless steel by internationally renowned artist William Baggett. Other varying exhibits also are on display. Open Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday-Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
